GEOMETRY, MECHANICS AND CONTROL

The research network Geometry, Mechanics and Control brings together the main Spanish groups working in the areas of geometric mechanics, classical field theories, quantum mechanics and geometric control theory. To this research network, we include some European, Spanish American and North American groups, with which we have collaborated for some years. Thenetwork keeps since its beginning (more than ten years ago) a number of activities which give international visibility to the groups forming it. These activities are an annual training school (International Summer School on GMC), an annual coordination meeting (Encuentros de invierno de Geometría, Mecánica y Teoría de Control), an annual young researchers meeting (Young researches workshop on GMC) and a biannual meeting organized by Spanish and Iberoamerican groups (Iberoamerican Meetings on GMC) with a international character. In addition, the network organizes thematic days and mini-courses for updating of its researchers and collaborates with the mobility and training of the young researchers which participate in it. The diffusion of all these activities can be found in the web page www.gmcnetwork.org and through a monthly e-newsletter. In order to keep and revitalization of these actions, this action is applied for.
